Day 2 - December 18th - Getting to Copenhagen

After a long night on the plane, we land in London to get on a connecting flight to the capital city of Denmark. We have a three hour layover in the London Heathrow Airport. Giraffe, a popular breakfast restaurant at the airport, is where we all decide to stop for a meal before getting on our next flight. Afterwards, we sit in our terminal and begin to talk about all of the places we would like to go when we get to Copenhagen!
Culture event:
Around 10:00 a.m., we board the plane from London to Copenhagen. This flight only took three hours, so we quickly enjoyed more pretzels and nuts. By 12:50 p.m., we safely land at the Copenhagen Airport. Since we have no car to take us to our hotel, we take the metro, M2, to the Copenhagen Downtown Hostel. After we check-in and unpack, we decide to go to our first destination on the trip; an experience to introduce us to the culture of Denmark. Around 3:00 p.m., we take a five minute walk to the Ny Carlsberg Glypotek Art Museum. . This museum was free for anyone who is under eighteen years old. We enjoy the diverse culture through the ancient and modern works of art. Alex's favorite painting was called “View from a Window in Eckersbergs Studio of a Wing of Charlottenborg” by the artist Christen Købke.
We stay until the museum closes at 5:00 p.m. We start to walk toward the hotel and we stop for dinner on the way. After eating at a nice restaurant called gorm's i Magstræde, we return to the hotel to go to bed early. We need to be ready for another day in the city of Copenhagen, Denmark!
